Getting Started

  • Download the app, enter your phone number, and verify it. Setup takes a couple of minutes. You can explore the app before adding any money.

  • A phone number to start. To issue a Sovra debit card, send or receive via bank transfer, you'll have to complete a quick identity check with a government ID.

  • Sovra works in over 180 countries. You can check whether it is available in your current location during signup.

  • No, there's no minimum. You can start with any amount and top up whenever you like.

  • There are a few ways to add money. You can transfer dollars from a crypto wallet, which works wherever you are, and in selected countries you can also top up by bank transfer or cash deposit through our partners. Whichever you choose, the money shows up in your balance as soon as it clears.

Your Money

  • Your money is held as digital dollars, fully backed and redeemable one to one, and you hold them directly. Sovra never pools your money with anyone else's or holds it on your behalf.

  • No. Sovra is built so that we can't touch your money. This isn't a policy we promise to keep, it's simply how the system works. Your funds are yours to move whenever you want, and no institution can freeze your access to them.

  • Your money stays yours. Because you hold your funds directly rather than through Sovra, your access doesn't depend on the company being around. Your funds live on a blockchain, in your custody, not on Sovra's servers, so they remain yours to access independently of us. If Sovra disappeared tomorrow, your money would still be yours.

  • No. Sovra is a technology platform, not a financial institution. Banks take your deposits and lend them out, which is why getting your money back sometimes depends on the bank being able to give it to you. Sovra is different. Your money stays yours the whole time, and we never lend it, invest it, or hold it.

  • Your balance is backed one to one by real digital dollars, and you never have to take our word for it. At any time, you can paste your Sovra address into an independent, third-party tool and confirm your balance yourself, completely separate from us. Card & Spending

  • Once your account is set up and your identity is verified, you can request your card in the app in a few taps, and it's completely free.

  • Your Sovra card is virtual, so you can start spending the moment it's issued. Use it online or add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay and tap to pay in stores, restaurants and more.

  • Almost anywhere in the world that accepts card payments, both online and in stores.

  • Each card transaction carries a 1.1% fee, charged by Sovra's infrastructure partners. Sovra doesn't add any fee on top.

Transfers

  • Choose who you're sending to, enter the amount, and confirm. The money reaches them in seconds, for free.

  • You've got a few options. You can send to any crypto wallet, which arrives in seconds and free of charge. Where cash is supported, you can send it to a cash partner for your recipient to collect in person. And where bank transfers are supported, you can send to an international bank account by SEPA, Wire or ACH, depending on where your recipient is.

  • Sending to another Sovra user, or to a crypto wallet, takes seconds. Bank transfers are typically settled up to two days.

  • Sending to another Sovra user or to a crypto wallet is always free. Bank transfers follow partner pricing, usually 1% or less, and you'll see the exact fee before you confirm.

Security

  • Self-custody means you hold your money directly, rather than handing it to a company to keep for you. Your funds stay in your own custody where only you have control, and Sovra makes that simple to use without any technical know-how on your part. You get full ownership without the complexity that usually comes with it.

  • Your money is protected on two levels. Your funds sit in your own custody, so they can't be taken or frozen by Sovra or anyone else. On top of that, access to your account is locked to your device with a PIN or biometric login, so only you can move your money.

  • Your money is safe. Because your funds aren't stored on your phone, losing it doesn't mean losing access. You can recover your account on a new device with the help of customer support.
