How Sovra Works

How do you check your balance yourself?

How do you check your balance yourself?

You don't have to take Sovra's word for your balance. Your money is recorded on a public ledger that anyone can read, and you can check it yourself in under a minute.

What is the open ledger, and why does it make independent checking possible?

Base is a public blockchain: a shared ledger where every balance and every transaction is visible to anyone. Your balance in the Sovra app is a reading of that ledger, not a number in our database. Which means you can go read the ledger yourself, using tools that have nothing to do with Sovra.

How do I check my balance, step by step?

1. Find your wallet address in the app. 2. Open Basescan, an independent explorer for the Base network: https://basescan.org/ 3. Paste your address into the search bar. 4. You will see your balance and your full transaction history, live from the ledger.

How does my Earn balance show?

Dollars in Earn are held as shares of the Steakhouse Prime vault, a token that sits in your wallet like any other balance and appears on Basescan with the rest of your holdings. The number of shares stays the same while their value grows as interest accrues, so the share count will not exactly match your dollar amount. The app always shows you the live dollar value.

What am I actually looking at?

The same data everyone in the world sees: the live record of your address on a public network, updating in real time. No login, no permission from Sovra, no trust required.

Can someone else see my balance if they have my address, and what can they not do with it?

Anyone with your address can see its balance and transactions. That openness is exactly what makes independent verification possible. What they cannot do is move anything: seeing an address gives no control over it, and the address itself does not carry your name.
